He also allows too many fly balls, so Staumont could easily pitch himself out of this spot in the next few weeks.But hey, he’s got two saves in three days with a career 2.57 ERA and considerable strikeout upside. Likely omitted from the Opening Day roster for nefarious service-time reasons, the 23-year-old infielder has gone 6-for-14 with four walks and four doubles. The 25-year-old has spent the last six games perched atop Arizona’s batting order, and he’s utilized that role to score seven runs with two doubles, a triple, and a homer.
