He practiced Monday on the second line between Jeff Carter and Kasperi Kapanen, and on the first power-play unit with Sidney Crosby, Evan Rodrigues, Kris Letang and Jake Guentzel."I would anticipate, at this point, that 'Geno' would be a game-time decision, but we're certainly encouraged with the progress that he's made," Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said. The Penguins were eliminated with a 5-3 loss in Game 6 of the best-of-7 series. The 35-year-old said the decision to have knee surgery stemmed from a desire to play several more seasons in the NHL."I want to play three or four years more, and I don't want to worry every game about my knee," Malkin said Dec. 29. I want to enjoy every game."The three-time Stanley Cup champion (2009, 2016, 2017) has played 940 games in 16 NHL seasons for Pittsburgh, second behind teammate Sidney Crosby (1,061).
