Summary

We'll bring you updates and analysis throughout the day from our reporting team in New Hampshire and in Washington, D.C.Our team includes Eliza Collins (@elizacollins1), Chad Day (@ChadSDay) Joshua Jamerson (@joshjame), Tarini Parti (@tparti) , Ken Thomas (@KThomasDC), John McCormick (@McCormickJohn) and Alexa Corse (@alexacorse).Most polls will close at 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. The Associated Press could project a winner soon after 8 p.m., or it could take longer if the race is very close.Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Mayor Pete Buttigieg are leading in recent state polls, but third place will be closely watched. Here is a guide to the race and our planned coverage.Elizabeth Warren, facing sagging public poll numbers in New Hampshire with only hours left of voting to go, is playing down the significance of winning states outright and doubling down on her campaign strategy to prepare for a long nomination fight.“The road to the Democratic nomination is not paved with statewide winner-take-all victories. As Ms. Warren’s polling has dipped, her team has increasingly sought to assuage voters' concerns about her ability to build a coalition to defeat President Trump in the general election.Mr. Lau laid out point-by-point what he deemed the flaws of Ms. Warren’s top rivals: former Vice President Joe Biden, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar. He said Mr. Sanders “starts with a ceiling that's significantly lower than the support he had four years ago...and he hasn't yet faced the scrutiny of his record that will surely come with any further rise.”He said Mr. Biden’s campaign was on the verge of collapse. "It kind of sounds cheesy."She said she believes Ms. Warren has the best chance to win in November."I feel like Elizabeth has the ability to stand up against Trump, and electability was a big part of my decision," she said.Sara Vorias, a 48-year-old business owner, said she has seen several candidates as they campaigned in New Hampshire but ultimately decided Monday evening to vote for Pete Buttigieg. Adam Thibeault, a 24-year-old University of New Hampshire student, said he voted for Mr. Sanders in 2016 but this cycle he also considered Mr. Buttigieg. Adam Thibeault, a 24-year-old University of New Hampshire student, said he voted for Mr. Sanders in 2016 but this cycle he also considered Mr. Buttigieg. "Our people are ready for a shift," she added.Adam Thibeault, a 24-year-old University of New Hampshire student, said he voted for Mr. Sanders in 2016 but this cycle he also considered Mr. Buttigieg. "which is good and bad, but I think there's more that I agree with than not.”Adam Thibeault, a 24-year-old University of New Hampshire student, said he voted for Mr. Sanders in 2016 but this cycle he also considered Mr. Buttigieg. Although he couldn't say if he would support whoever the Democratic nominee is this time, Mr. O'Connell expressed his desire to see the president out of office."The man wouldn’t know the truth if it fell off of the Trump Tower," he said of Mr. Trump.Sabrina SiddiquiFormer Vice President Joe Biden is traveling to South Carolina on Tuesday to attend a launch party in the state ahead of what is expected to be a poor showing in the New Hampshire primary.Mr. Biden said he will be addressing his New Hampshire supporters through a livestream on primary night after attending a South Carolina launch party with his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, and Rep. Cedric Richmond (D., La.) in Columbia, S.C."We're still mildly hopeful here in New Hampshire and we'll see what happens," the former vice president told reporters. He denied that South Carolina's Feb. 29 primary represents a "do-or-die" situation for his campaign. The 78-year-old and the 38-year-old—the oldest and youngest candidates in the race, respectively—have crisscrossed this small state as Mr. Sanders seeks to claim the first outright victory of the election cycle and Mr. Buttigieg tries to establish himself as a serious contender heading into contests in Nevada and South Carolina later in February.Read Full ArticleThe 78-year-old and the 38-year-old—the oldest and youngest candidates in the race, respectively—have crisscrossed this small state as Mr. Sanders seeks to claim the first outright victory of the election cycle and Mr. Buttigieg tries to establish himself as a serious contender heading into contests in Nevada and South Carolina later in February.Read Full ArticleChad Day, Eliza CollinsFormer New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg won a tiny New Hampshire community that is traditionally the first to cast ballots in the state's first-in-the-nation primary election, the Associated Press reports. In the Dixville Notch, N.H., Democratic primary, Mr. Bloomberg received three write-in votes, one from a Republican and two from Democrats.
